Individual Therapy for Women

To put it simply, in our society, women are expected to simultaneously fulfill the roles of mother, wife, sister, daughter, coworker, boss or friend, all while trying not to appear “too emotional,” “reactive,” or “inadequate.” These expectations are impossible to fulfill, yet our society continues to perpetuate the norm that women should effortlessly be able to meet the needs of everyone around them by sacrificing their own needs.

If this sounds familiar to you, then you are most likely feeling exhausted, underappreciated, lonely or unhappy. You may be feeling disconnected from your past self, and wondering where to begin when changing yourself and your life when you are also the primary emotional, relational and practical caretaker of your family and relationships. I can help you both find a starting point and experience long-term change. In therapy, I will help you find the freedom, joy and healing that you have been looking for.

One of my specialities is helping women navigate and identify high-control or abusive relationships and marriages. Women often find themselves wondering if they may be in a high-control or abusive relationship, marriage, workplace, church or cult. Further, it is common to feel overwhelmed by how you would change or exit your circumstance. In therapy, we explore these questions or concerns, and identify practical steps. You are not alone and I am here to support you.

The Process

schedule

Schedule a first session. If you would like to see if we would be a good fit before scheduling a first session, then you can schedule a free, 20 minute phone or video consultation with me.

MEET

In our first few sessions, I ask you a variety of questions in order for me to get to know you, what brings you to therapy, and what you would like to see change.

Change

As we continue to meet, you guide what we talk about each session, and I provide the compass for how what we discuss ties to your goals for therapy and the main parts of your life you would like to see change.
